New York City is home to some of the most iconic buildings in the world. However, many of these iconic structures are major contributors to the city's carbon pollution. The city's buildings produce almost three-quarters of its greenhouse gas emissions, and much of this comes from the inefficient use of energy. In an effort to reduce carbon emissions, New York City has implemented a number of sustainability initiatives.

The city is now taking steps to address this issue by incentivizing upgrades to buildings that are more energy efficient. Overall, New York City is making progress in reducing the carbon pollution created by its buildings. However, there is still much work to be done in order to make the city's buildings more sustainable and efficient.
