Harnessing Desert Winds
📍Cajamarca District, Peru
The Cupisnique Wind Farm is a Peruvian wind farm with a capacity of 80 MW from 45 wind turbines, belonging to the Peruvian subsidiary Energía Eólica S.A. which belongs to the American company Contour Global.
The picture shows three turbines located next the Andean Cordillera within the dry, desert landscape typical for the north-western part of Peru. There is a nice contrast between the modern, wind energy turbines and a petroleum truck crossing the road next to them.
