Powering Indigenous Communities

Energy Access

📍Puyo, Ecuador

Electricity Access Puyo Ecuador_edited.jpg

Ecuador is a developing country in north-western South America. It is one of the most biodiverse places in the world and has a diverse population of indigenous people and "mestizos" who speak Kichwa, Awapit and other languages besides Spanish.

The artwork shows girls of the Indichouri tribe playing football during the sunset. The government is aiming to further electrify rural areas of Ecuador to empower more people to study at night, replace polluting cook stoves, or get connected to the world wide web.
