Transmission Grid
📍Tyrol, Austria
Austria is a central European landlocked country with around 9 million inhabitants. More than 70% of the national territory is mountainous. That is why the country is colloquially called the Alpine Republic. Around 60% of the electricity is generated by run-of-river and pumped-storage power plants.
Electrical energy is transported in a 10,000 km long power line network with different voltages of 380 kV, 220 kV and 110 kV. Due to its connection to foreign power grids, Austria is part of the European ENTSO-E grid.
